The Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte is considered the best university of the Brazilian Northeastern region, according to the General Index of Courses (IGC), an evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Education, the main authority responsible for the evaluation of Brazilian universities. UFRN achieved grade 4 in a scale of 1 to 5 and has a score of 349 points, in a scale of 0 to 500.
