São Tomé and Príncipe (Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe) is an island country located in the Gulf of Guinea, off the Atlantic coast of Central Africa. The archipelago is composed of two main islands – São Tomé and Príncipe – and several smaller islets. Its closest neighbors are Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, and Nigeria, all located on the African mainland.
