The Russian Federation, or simply Russia, is the largest country in the world by land area, spanning Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. The Russian territory covers 11 time zones and borders numerous countries: Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland (via the Kaliningrad exclave), Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, and North Korea. To the north, it is bordered by the Arctic Ocean; to the east, by the Pacific Ocean.
