Brafitec Scholarships in France!

The International Relations Office (SRI) at UFRN announces the opening of the selection process for the Capes/BRAFITEC Program. This initiative offers academic mobility scholarships in France specifically for undergraduate students from the Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering programs at the Technology Center (CT/UFRN).

Overview and Research Scope

Selected students will join the project "Climate change mitigation based on nature-based solutions." The goal is to train engineers with an interdisciplinary vision capable of addressing contemporary challenges associated with climate change.

Selected candidates can spend up to one year at one of the following partner institutions in France:

Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC) and 

École Spéciale des Travaux Publics (ESTP-Paris)

Benefits and Funding

The program offers four scholarship slots with benefits funded by CAPES, including:

• Monthly Stipend: Approximately €870 while abroad.


• Settlement Allowance: To assist with initial costs in France.


• Health Insurance: To ensure medical coverage during the stay.


• Travel Allowance: Funding for airfare and displacement.

Eligibility and Requirements

To apply, candidates must be regularly enrolled in the 2026.1 semester and meet the following criteria:

• Academic Performance: Normalised Academic Efficiency Index (IEAN) equal to or greater than 600.


• Academic History: No more than two failed courses, two course withdrawals, and one program withdrawal.


• Program Progress: Between 50% and 80% of the total course workload completed.


• Language Proficiency: Proof of proficiency in French must be submitted by May 20.

Application Process (Step-by-Step)

Applications must be submitted via email by 11:59 PM on March 11.

Required Documentation:

• Academic Transcript & Report: Updated academic indices from SIGAA.


• Curriculum Vitae: Including current phone and email contact information.


• Motivation Letter: A text between 500 and 800 words justifying the choice of the French institution and its alignment with the project scope.


• Language Certificate: French proficiency proof (if already obtained).

Timeline

Application Deadline: March 11, 2026.

Interview Shortlist: Announced by March 12.

Interviews (In-person): March 13, 2026.Final Results: March 16, 2026.
