Study in France: AgroParisTech Launches the 2026 Summer Program in Sustainability, Biotechnology, and Cosmetics

The International Relations Office (SRI) of UFRN announces an excellent opportunity for students in life sciences, engineering, and environmental fields. The renowned French institution AgroParisTech has opened applications for its International Summer Program 2026.


The summer program will take place from June 1 to July 17, 2026, offering full immersion in France’s research and innovation ecosystem. The course is fully taught in English (with introductory “survival French” classes) and focuses on Sustainability in Food Systems, Biotechnologies, and Biocosmetics.


How does the program work?


The seven‑week program offers an intensive theoretical and practical experience worth 6 ECTS credits for participants:



  • - Week 1 (Integration and Culture):Held at the main Palaiseau campus (known as the “French Silicon Valley”). Includes lectures, workshops, and iconic cultural activities such as a cruise on the Seine River and a visit to the Rungis market (the largest wholesale food market in the world).

  • - Weeks 2 to 6 (Practical Internship): Students complete a five‑week internship in one of AgroParisTech’s research units. Laboratories are located in Paris, Reims (Champagne), and Orléans (Loire Valley).

  • - Week 7 (Closing): Return to the Paris region for a mini‑symposium, where students deliver oral presentations on the results obtained in their host laboratories.


Internship Positions and Areas


The 2026 catalog offers 11 exclusive internship positions. Students may work alongside leading researchers in projects such as:


- Scientific review on interactions between plants and solar panels (Agrivoltaics).


- Quantification of melanin production through microscopy for skin biology.


- Formulation and characterization of cosmetics using bio‑based raw materials.


- Neurophysiological studies on gut microbiota changes induced by fructose and their relationship with mood.


- Economic analysis of the “land‑sparing vs. land‑sharing” debate focusing on biodiversity conservation and agricultural production.


 Eligibility Requirements


To apply, UFRN students must:


- Be enrolled from the third year of undergraduate studies or in a Master’s program in scientific and technological fields related to life sciences or the environment.


- Have suficient English proficiency (B2 level certificate) or be a native speaker.


Program Fees and Partner Discount


he program offers two fee options:


- Standard Plan (€2,000): Includes the internship, cultural activities, courses, and French classes.


- Premium Plan (€4,000): Adds services such as accommodation and local transportation (including train tickets to the internship site).


Important: AgroParisTech offers a 20% discount for students from partner universities. And guess what? UFRN is a partner!

Applicants must submit their applications on the AgroParisTech platform by March 20, 2026, at 23:59 (Paris time). It is essential to prepare a strong motivation letter, highlighting your background and ambitions, as spots are limited.
